Ashley Susen, DPT
I am originally from Asheville, NC. I completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biological Anthropology & Anatomy at Duke University in Durham, NC in May 2003 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in July 2006. I have 5 years experience with pediatric patients with various diagnoses seen mostly in the home and daycare setting as well as 5 ½ years experience with adult outpatient orthopedic and postsurgical diagnoses.
It important to treat each child as an individual! I made the switch to pediatrics because my daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in August 2012. I want to share my PT knowledge with other children and their families facing developmental delays. Since returning to Asheville, I joined Higher Ground Pediatric Therapy and look forward to working in the outpatient clinic setting again.
I have attended numerous continuing education courses over the years related to orthopedics and pediatrics. I recently completed Functional Movement Techniques (FMT) basic kinesiology taping certification in September 2017 and look forward to the pediatric certification course in the coming months!
My husband Kurt and I returned to the area in early 2017 after spending the past 10 years working and playing along the beautiful North Carolina coast. We have 2 cats and a daughter, Zoe Marie, who turned 6 this summer.
