Lauren Fetty, COTA/L

I am originally from Ocala, FL,  where I grew up catching lizards, eating chicken n' dumplings, and spending summers scalloping in Crystal River.  I attended the University of Florida and earned my Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation in 2012.  After a ziplining accident in Costa Rica, I found myself receiving occupational therapy at an outpatient hand clinic.  I immediately fell in love with the profession and became a licensed COTA in 2016.  While completing my COTA fieldwork, I also started my graduate schooling at the University of St. Augustine, and will graduate with my Master of Occupational Therapy degree in December 2018.  While I enjoy working with people in all stages of life, my true passion is working with children.  I worked in both the school system and at an outpatient pediatric clinic while living in Florida.  I became part of the HGPT team when I moved to the Asheville area in March 2017.  I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work with so many kind, devoted, silly, and outgoing team members.  During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, rehabilitating sick/orphaned wildlife, doing aerial silks, and crocheting.
